Discover the Joy of Dance at Cheryl's Dance Centre

Mommy & Me

Ages 18 months-2.5 years. This class is designed to allow each mom to help her child develop motor and coordination skills in a fun, structured environment. It is a wonderful opportunity for babies to get in on the dance fun before they are old enough to join class on their own. 

Creative Dance

Ages 3-4.  No previous training. This is a beginner-friendly dance class designed for young children to explore movement, music, and imagination in a fun and supportive setting. Through playful activities, children learn basic dance skills, coordination, balance, and rhythm while expressing themselves through creative play. The class encourages confidence, listening skills, and teamwork.

Tot Hip-Hop

Ages 3-4. No previous training. A high-energy class just for little ones! Dancers learn fun, age-appropriate hip hop moves while developing rhythm, coordination, and confidence. With upbeat music, playful activities, and lots of personality, this class keeps tots moving, grooving, and having a blast.

Tot Tap

Ages 3-4.  No previous training. This class is an energetic and engaging dance class designed for young children to explore the basics of tap. Dancers learn simple tap steps and rhythms while developing coordination, balance, and musicality. The class uses playful activities and music to keep children excited and moving and helping them to build confidence.

Tot Tumble

Ages 3-4. This class introduces young children to the basics of tumbling and movement in a safe, playful environment. Dancers practice simple skills like rolling, balancing, jumping, stretching, cartwheels all while building coordination, strength, and flexibility. With fun activities and imaginative exercises, Tot Tumble helps little ones develop body awareness and confidence while having a great time.

Beginner 1 Ballet

Ages 5-6. This class is structured yet playful class that introduces young dancers to the fundamentals of ballet. Children learn basic ballet positions, simple steps, and proper posture while developing coordination, balance, and musicality. The class blends discipline with creativity, using age-appropriate exercises and music to keep dancers engaged and inspired. It’s a wonderful way for children to build confidence, focus, and a love for dance while laying the foundation for future ballet training.

Beginner 2 Ballet/Lyrical

Ages 7-8. This class is a graceful and expressive class that builds on the fundamentals of ballet while introducing the fluid style of lyrical dance. Dancers strengthen their technique with more challenging ballet steps, positions, and combinations, while also learning how to connect movement with emotion through lyrical expression. The class focuses on posture, flexibility, musicality, and storytelling, encouraging dancers to develop both technical skills and artistry. It’s a perfect blend of structure and creativity, helping young dancers grow in confidence and passion for dance.

Beginner 3 Ballet/Lyrical

Ages 9-10. This class is designed to deepen dancers’ technical foundation while nurturing their artistic expression. Students continue building strength, flexibility, and coordination through more advanced ballet positions, steps, and combinations. At the same time, they explore the lyrical style, learning to connect emotion and storytelling with movement. The class emphasizes musicality, control, and fluidity, encouraging dancers to refine their technique while expressing themselves with confidence and creativity. It provides a strong base for continued growth in both ballet and lyrical dance.

Junior Ballet/Lyrical

Ages 11-12. This class is a focused class that strengthens technique while encouraging artistic growth. Dancers work on more complex ballet combinations, developing control, alignment, and precision, while also exploring the expressive qualities of lyrical dance. The class emphasizes strength, flexibility, musicality, and performance skills, helping students connect emotion and storytelling to movement. It provides a supportive environment where dancers can refine their abilities, build confidence, and prepare for more advanced levels of ballet and lyrical training.

Senior Ballet/Lyrical

Ages 13-18. This class is an intermediate-advanced class that focuses on refining technique, strength, and artistry. Students tackle challenging ballet combinations to perfect alignment, control, and precision, while lyrical training emphasizes fluidity, expression, and musical interpretation. The class develops performance skills, flexibility, and stamina, encouraging dancers to convey emotion and storytelling through movement. It’s designed to prepare dancers for higher-level training, performances, and the continued growth of both technical skill and artistic expression.

Pre-Pointe/Pointe

Ages 13-18. This class is a specialized ballet class designed for dancers preparing to dance on pointe or who are already dancing on pointe. Pre-Pointe focuses on building the strength, alignment, and technique necessary to safely transition to pointe work, including exercises for the feet, ankles, and core. Pointe class allows dancers to perform on pointe, developing balance, control, and precision while executing advanced ballet steps and combinations. Both classes emphasize proper technique, injury prevention, and artistry, helping dancers advance their skill and confidence in this challenging and elegant aspect of ballet.

Beginner 2 Jazz

Ages 7-8. This class is a fun and energetic class that introduces young dancers to the basics of jazz technique. Students learn fundamental jazz steps, turns, and combinations while developing coordination, rhythm, and musicality. The class emphasizes creativity, performance, and confidence, using upbeat music and engaging choreography to keep dancers excited and motivated. It’s a lively way for children to build a strong foundation in jazz dance while having fun and expressing themselves.

Beginner 3/Junior Jazz

Ages 9-12. This class is an upbeat and dynamic class that builds on foundational jazz skills while introducing more challenging steps and combinations. Dancers focus on improving technique, rhythm, coordination, and musicality, while learning to execute movements with style and expression. The class encourages creativity, confidence, and performance quality, helping students refine their skills and prepare for more advanced jazz training in a fun and energetic environment.

Senior Jazz

Ages 13-18. This class is a high-energy, intermediate-advanced class that focuses on refining technique, strength, and performance skills. Dancers work on combinations, jumps, turns, and stylistic movements, emphasizing precision, musicality, and expression. The class challenges students to bring artistry and confidence to their performance, while building stamina, flexibility, and control.

Beginner 1 Tap

Ages 5-6. This class is a fun, introductory class where young dancers learn the basics of tap dance. Children explore simple steps, rhythms, and sounds, developing coordination, timing, and musicality. The class uses playful activities and engaging music to keep dancers excited and motivated, while also building confidence, focus, and a love for movement.

Beginner 2 Tap

Ages 7-8. This class is a lively class that builds on basic tap skills while introducing more challenging steps and rhythms. Dancers work on improving coordination, timing, and musicality through fun combinations and exercises. The class encourages confidence, focus, and expression, helping students develop a strong foundation in tap technique while enjoying the excitement of making music with their feet.

Beginner 3/Junior Tap

Ages 9-12. This class is an energetic class that advances dancers’ tap technique and rhythm skills. Students learn more complex steps, combinations, and timing patterns while continuing to develop coordination, musicality, and precision. The class emphasizes style, performance quality, and confidence, helping dancers refine their technique and express themselves through movement and sound. 

Senior Tap

Ages 13-18.  This class is an intermediate-advanced, high-energy class that focuses on refining technique, rhythm, and performance skills. Dancers work on complex combinations, intricate footwork, and precise timing, while developing musicality, style, and stage presence. The class emphasizes strength, coordination, and expression.

Beginner 1 Hip-Hop

Ages 5-6. Hip-Hop is an urban street style of dance with approriate upbeat movement explorations. Students will begin to build basic hip hop vocabulary while working on combinations that focus on coordination, personal style and expression. 

Beginner 2 Hip-Hop

Ages 7-8. This class is a fun and energetic class that builds on basic hip hop skills while introducing new moves and combinations. Dancers focus on rhythm, coordination, and musicality, learning to move with style and confidence. The class uses upbeat music and engaging choreography to keep students motivated, encouraging creativity, self-expression, and teamwork.

Beginner 3/Junior Hip-Hop

Ages 9-12.This class is an upbeat, high-energy class that teaches age-appropriate hip hop moves and choreography. Dancers work on rhythm, coordination, and musicality while learning fun combinations that build confidence and performance skills. The class encourages creativity and self-expression, giving students the chance to develop their own style in a supportive environment.

Senior Hip-Hop

Ages 13-18. This class is a fast-paced, high-energy class that focuses on developing strong hip hop technique, style, and performance skills. Dancers learn advanced moves, intricate footwork, and challenging choreography set to upbeat, age-appropriate music. The class emphasizes rhythm, precision, creativity, and self-expression, encouraging dancers to showcase their individuality while working as a team. 

Beginner Tumble

Ages 5 & up. This is an exciting class that introduces children to the basics of tumbling in a safe and supportive environment. Dancers practice foundational skills such as rolls, cartwheels, handstands, and bridges, while also building strength, flexibility, and coordination. The class uses fun drills and activities to keep students engaged, helping them gain confidence and body awareness. It’s a great way for young dancers to develop tumbling skills that support both dance and overall athletic ability.

Intermediate Tumble

Ages 5 & up. This is a dynamic class designed for dancers who have mastered basic tumbling skills and are ready to progress to the next level. Students work on developing strength, control, and flexibility while learning more challenging skills such as walkovers, round-offs, and connecting movements. The class emphasizes proper technique and safety, encouraging dancers to build confidence as they advance. It’s a supportive and motivating environment that helps students refine their tumbling abilities and prepare for more advanced acro and dance training.

Advanced Tumble

This class is a fast-paced class for dancers who have a strong foundation in tumbling and are ready to take on more complex skills. Students focus on advanced movements such as aerials, handsprings, and connected tumbling passes, while continuing to build power, flexibility, and control. The class emphasizes precision, strength, and safety, challenging dancers to push their abilities while maintaining proper technique. 

Adult Classes

Ages 19 & up. This is a fun and energetic class designed for dancers of all experience levels to enjoy movement, fitness, and self-expression. The class blends the stylized technique of jazz with the upbeat, rhythmic style of hip hop, creating a lively and engaging experience. Dancers learn combinations that build coordination, strength, and musicality while boosting confidence and performance skills. It’s a supportive, stress-free environment where adults can stay active, have fun, and connect with others through dance.

Competition Company

Ages 5 & up. Competition Companies are made up of students who desire to be on a Dance Company that participates in local and national level dance competitions. The Competition Company requires more hours of dance per week where technique is the main focus. Auditions for the Competition Company take place in the early summer. Centre' Stage Dance Company has received "Super Sport" Awards, "Exceptional Choreography" Awards, and many "Overall" Awards. The dancers have also received many invitations to attend MVP opening numbers, Youth Ambassdor program, and Fusion Stars. Cheryl's Dance Centre' teaches that competing is not all about winning but supporting others in the amazing art of dance.
